Sub Frequency shouts - Ice cold Drum and Bass, soulful HipHop and Med School

It’s always a blessing to come across a new Suree collaboration. This time she’s teamed up with the jazz fusion styling’s of Gerwin. Syncrisis represents the darker side of Gerwins production which blends perfectly with Suree’s ice cold vocals.

Now for one from InsideInfo, a true beat and sound form architect. Bottled is wonderfully structured, using numerous bottle sounds a ripping bassline and a sweet catchy vocal. All sounds are crystal clear and blend well on this progressive Drum and Bass, dancefloor twister.

Switching the flavours it’s time to tune into the deep basslines and wistful keys of The Roots featuring Big K.R.I.T ‘Make-my’. This piece isn’t all about the vocals, although they are all laced with a massively melancholy vibe. Make-my has a wonderfully long laidback instrumental in the last minutes which just takes over, immersing the listener in a thick juicy meditation.

Something fresh from the Med School camp really stuck out this week. The Royalston remix of MA’s – Japanese Bones, moves in with an eerie vibe laced with a standard DnB best line before unleashing with an aggressive half step hybrid beat line topped off with some equally aggressive rolling basslines.

Finally it’s time to make a shout out about one the hottest tracks on the new Unquote album, ‘Reverberation box’. Cold Tenderness is one of the best examples of the Unquote sound. Big orchestral synths, a crisp beat line, deep rounded bass and angelic vocals wrapped together to make a quality ethereal composition. Med School Music
