Intoxicating chimes from Inanna - Cariad (Dubporn records)

The 4th release for Dubporn records is out.  Cariad by Inanna features the orginal and a reworking, plus two remixes.  This project is all chimes and layers, combined to create an intelligent, serene musical experience.

Cariad by Inanna moves in gently with melodic chimes, a laid back beat line and an ominous top layer, before settling down into a rich synth heavy melody which compliments the chimes perfectly.  As this chilled number progresses Inanna blends layer and synth to create a complex electronic melody/language.

Inannas rethink of Cariad pays courtesy to the original melodic chimes but features an earthier organic snare and pacy beat line.  Inna keeps up the bell themes throughout as she weaves through multiple melodies creating a heady cocktail.  This is layer building at a heavenly level.  A fresh combination of sounds here makes this one a must for only euphoric dance floor moment.  Buy Cariad, if only for this version.

The PTR1 remix takes a different slant on the original by upping the beats, for a 2 step feel.  Crisp snares, a punchy beatline and a deep bass roll through this laidback dancefloor number.  The chimes give the piece a melancholy feel as the layers are kept locked.  The bassline is a dominant force here.

Shoju’s Remix threatens to be harder from the outset, with a deep house edge. Shoju has created a raw synth bassline up throughout as kicks and hi-hats are brought in steadily.  On the initial break those sublime chimes are brought forth, teasing the listener.   Should be ideal for a night, of close your eyes and sway boogie.

One of his personal tracks, Memoirs ticks all the boxes for the quality of this artist’s style. With ambient layers and low down bass, Memoirs features a stunning, angelic female vocal, heightening it further.

High Frequency - Over again

High Frequency has started to make waves with the tracks they are currently putting out. The duo put out a range of Drum and Bass pieces from dark and minimal to liquid rollers. Their current remix of Blu Mar Ten – All or nothing is being completely rinsed on soundcloud.

Another High Frequency track to get your ears on is ‘Over again’. This deep roller takes it easy throughout, with a grounded pace and some funky music machine communication to have you bouncing.
